When you try to launch HotDocs, the HotDocs splash screen appears, but HotDocs fails to launch.
You may be able to resolve this problem by deleting the HotDocs registry key for the current user:
For HotDocs 10:
For HotDocs 2009 or earlier:
If this still doesn’t fix the problem, try the steps listed in Part II of this post on the HotDocs Wiki.
Warning : Deleting the key will remove some non-critical user-specific HotDocs settings (e.g., the user’s default location for HotDocs libraries). These preference settings will need to be re-set after this solution is implemented.
Changes made to the Windows registry can cause some programs to malfunction, so be careful when editing the registry.
HotDocs displays a “Macro HD6EditTemplate.wcm not found” error and you are unable to edit templates.
The “Macro HD6EditTemplate.wcm not found” error occasionally occurs after an upgrade with HotDocs or WordPerfect. This can also occur when HotDocs is run prior to the first use of WordPerfect.
Note: If you are still getting the error, try rebooting your computer. It is possible that the macros are not located in the WordPerfect file path you copied into the Macro Folder file path box (see steps 2-5 above). If you have old versions of the macros on your computer used with older versions of WordPerfect and HotDocs, you may have to delete the older macros in order to no longer see the error message, even after you have re-pointed to the newest macro folder.
When attempting to edit a template, HotDocs displays the following error message: “HotDocs cannot play the macro HD6EditTemplate.Main because the macro does not exist in the original template or in a template currently loaded into Word”.
This error is encountered when the HotDocs macro templates are missing from the Word Startup folder. You will need to copy the HotDocs macros to the Word Startup folder:
